ABOUT
Emma Cortellessa is a children's illustrator working and living in Philadelphia.
She delights in creating whimsical worlds by using bold colors and charming characters. Acting to spread positivity, her work aims to fill the viewer with warmth and joy. Emma draws much of her inspiration from animals, especially anything that goes meow.
As a quiet kid who grew up with two dogs and two cats, she has always had a special love for animals. Her particular affinity for cats grew immensely when she rescued a toothless senior cat off the streets and gave him five final wonderful years of life. This led to her volunteering with a local cat rescue and she now has two very helpful studio mates named Cheerio and Babycat.
Emma graduated from Moore College of Art & Design with a BFA in illustration.
